The text explaining the way of thinking that explains the theme and moto of the exhibition is as follows:
There is a misconception brought about by the harsh modernization in Turkey: the new, the modern and finally the current is the one that is disconnected from the past. However, it is not. The modern structure of memory and reminiscence keeps the past alive with a different understanding. It is a modern articulation problem. There can be breaks, fundamentalist denials.
We are not looking for pioneers. It's real. But the premises are important. Moreover, the importance of the premise increases as one gains strength. For the faint, weak and uncertain, the premise has no significance, benefit or contribution.
Alpin Arda Bağcık, Soltus / 2020 - Akbank Art
Modern art was the history of predecessors. He can start the history of contemporary art with himself. Yet the 'fear of being influenced' remains outside the door. Genealogy is another fact. The inner adventure of contemporary art produced in Turkey is sometimes based on the murder of the father and sometimes the mother. But killing is not enough to destroy. 'What about the corpse of the one killed next to the Habeas Corpus? Because we live by memory and reminiscence. 'The suppressed returns'!
The question is, what are we going to remember? We may not consider the canon and the classical as predominant. The hidden, the discrete, the hidden, the surrounding, the underground, and the minor are much more powerful. The history of subalterns is written and should be written.

6 artists who were born after 1970 and produced their works look at their predecessors after determining their places. To look is to establish a cultural context. Context has the quality of being ahistorical as well as historical.
The exhibition connects the 6 predecessors identified individually and individually by the 6 artists. Maybe all of them...
It is different from all its parts.
